Bristol born and bred, Res One came into the U.K hip hop scene around 2011 when him, Badhabitz and Upfront released the debut Split Prophets project, Scribbled Thoughts. The crew Split Prophets grew and gained huge momentum, playing the countries festival circuit and supporting some of Hip Hops biggest names such as the Wu Tang Clan, MF Doom, KRS One, Pete Rock and more.
The name Split Prophets became almost household across the European scene within a couple of years and the tight nit group could be found playing sold out shows anywhere from Switzerland to Greece.
Res One released his debut album, Delph Efficacy, in 2015 which he toured the U.K and EU with, while managing to build a base camp in the genres birth place, New York City, connecting with underground legends such as L.i.f.e Long and Prince Po.After his first trip to NYC he formed another group with fellow MC Mistafire, which they dubbed ‘Dutch Mob’. Their first project, The Passport EP, some of which was recorded in the Bronx, featured US legend Edo G among a host of heavyweight artists from the U.K.
His latest album, ‘A Dogs Dreams’, with the incredible Illinformed, is a culmination of the past 7 years of musical experience and is also the first project to be released on his cities new music label, Green Brick Records. As an MC, Res always brings the energy to the stage. His intricate rhyme patterns and tone matched with his willingness to involve the crowd make his shows well balanced madness.
